Dr. Samuel Southam is a board certified diagnostic radiologist with fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology.

After graduating from Brigham Young University, Dr. Southam returned to his home state of Colorado to attend the University of Colorado School of Medicine, during which time he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then completed residency at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center where he served as chief resident. He stayed at UNM for a Musculoskeletal fellowship.

Following fellowship, Dr. Southam served as an active duty radiologist in the United States Air Force, where he was chief of Musculoskeletal imaging at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, California. During this time he was deployed to Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, where he provided care to coalition forces and local Afghanis. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his service.

Prior to joining Utah Radiology Associates, Dr. Southam spent 8 years as a partner with Radiology Associates of Albuquerque. His professional associations include the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Southam’s enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children. His hobbies include mountain biking, hiking, fishing, traveling, and skiing.
