Dr. Robert Snowden is a board certified diagnostic radiologist with fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology.

After completing his undergraduate work (majoring in French), Dr. Snowden remained at the University of Minnesota for medical school, participating in their rural outreach program in his third year to provide healthcare in the underserved farming communities in southwestern Minnesota. Upon graduating, he began a family practice residency in Northern Minnesota and was thereafter accepted to radiology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in central Pennsylvania. During the gap year prior to starting his radiology training, Dr. Snowden served as an emergency room physician working in several underserved rural communities in Minnesota.

Upon completion of his residency and subsequent fellowship at Penn State, Dr. Snowden returned to Geisinger Medical Center as an attending radiologist and was shortly thereafter appointed as academic chief of the musculoskeletal division in the radiology department, earning the Golden Apple award in 2014-2015 for excellence in radiology resident teaching and education.

Dr. Snowden‘s professional associations include the Skeletal Society of Radiology, Radiologic Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and American College of Radiology.

Spending time with his wife, six children and grandson is his greatest pastime. He also enjoys cooking, fishing, scuba diving and traveling, especially the to the Caribbean and Pacific islands.
